Barbaro                     Street Sense                Mine That Bird

In 1985,
Mike Prather earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Kentucky University with an area of concentration in graphic design and photography.  A native of La Grange, Kentucky and the Louisville area, Mike started PRATHERdesign in 1994.  His work encompasses all aspects of corporate communication, publication, annual reports, brochures, signage, environmental graphics, murals, children's books and illustration.

In 2004, Mike began to re-aquaint himself with the artistic side of design.  Creating compositions that lay beautifully on the canvas and explore the subtle variations in color, shape and light. He chooses simple objects from daily life, including bottles, flowers, fruits, and vases to create his still lifes of timeless beauty. Through his wispy brushstrokes and complimentary color choices, the artist transforms everyday objects into ethereal forms.

Recent mural projects can be seen at Kentucky Baptist Convention, Maryhurst, Ebbet Field Middle School, Greathouse Shyrock School, Churchill Downs Junior Jockey Club and The Kentucky Derby Museum Cafe.
